SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is a basic research laboratory operated for the Department of Energy (DOE) by Stanford University. SLAC has an exciting program offering summer internships for undergraduate students majoring in science or engineering to conduct research at the laboratory in Menlo Park, California.
During the internship, students work with a scientist or engineer on a project related to the laboratory’s research program. At the conclusion of the program, students write a research paper and make a brief presentation on their projects. Students also participate in a program of scientific lectures and tours.
The 2013 summer program at SLAC is for eight weeks from June 24 to August 16. An additional one week of participation through August 24 is optional, but encouraged.
Students selected for the internship receive: -Stipends -Travel expenses -Free housing on Stanford University campus
