Dr. Kyle Cole, OSO Director
Kyle joined the Office of Stem Outreach in November 2019 after working as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion in the Center for Teaching and Learning since 2017. He began working in science outreach in 2005 as the Associate Director of the Stanford Center for Probing the Nanoscale where he developed the Summer Institute for Middle School Teachers. In 2008 he became the Director of Precollege Programs at Oregon State University where he oversaw science outreach programs ranging from teacher professional development workshops, to afterschool clubs, to undergraduate online-mentoring of K-12 students.
Kyle did his undergraduate work at UC Santa Cruz, received his Masters from Sonoma State University, and his PhD from Yale University. In addition to science outreach, he has taught college courses ranging from organic chemistry to active-learning pedagogy.
