The Army High Performance Computing Research Center (AHPCRC) fosters the education of the next generation of scientists and engineers—including those from racially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds—in the fundamental theories and best practices of simulation-based engineering sciences and high performance computing.

The AHPCRC Summer Institute, an 8-week program for undergraduate students, is held at Stanford University. The Summer Institute provides training and hands-on experience in the use of computational techniques for science and engineering students with a curriculum of short courses in computational engineering methods concentrating on structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, and computer programming for parallel clusters. Students gain research experience working with one of the AHPCRC research groups at Stanford University.
